This is how we spent a couple of days this week. Most of us had colds and were generally miserable. No one was sleeping when and where they should have.
We managed, and it wasn't until later on when I realized I should really be offering our sufferings up for those people with kids who are really sick. I think helplessness is the main feeling parents have when their kids are sick, and I can't imagine having to spend night after night in the hospital with a child who can't understand what is going on.
We were sick, but not that sick. I'm grateful for the common cold, I guess.
